Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Assistant Engineer & Junior Analyst Jobs 2017

Educational Qualification:

1. Assistant Engineer Gr. I – Essential Bachelor of Engineering or Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE) or Engineering Degree in Mining or Mechanical or Drilling from a recognized University Note 1 Qualification are Relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. Note 2 The qualification regarding experience is Relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Schedules Tribes , if at any stage of selection the UPSC is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancy reserved for them
2. Junior Analyst Technical – Masters Degree in Science or Mathematics or Statistics or Degree in Engineering or Technology of a recognized University or equivalent. (Since the Department does not have the list of equivalent subjects (qualifications), same may be treated as NIL). Note-I The qualifications are Relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified

Age Limit:

Candidate’s Age Limit Should not exceed (For post 1- 35Years), (For post 2- 30Years). The Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC, 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD’s & 13 years for OBC PWD’s) and for Ex-S as per Govt. of India rules.
