Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university, Preference will be given to candidates possessing Master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice Administration and second preference shall be given to persons possessing Master’s degree in Social Work.

SCs/SC(A)s/STs/MBCs/DCs/BC(OBCM)s/BCMs – Minimum 18 Years and there is no maximum age limit.

Selection Procedure :

Selection for these TNPSC Jailor vacancies will be made on the basis of Written Examination and Oral Test in the shape of an interview. The Final selection will be made on the basis of Marks scored by the candidates in Written examination and Interview.

Pattern of TNPSC Exam 2017

Paper I – General Subject of Degree Standard (200 questions for 300 marks) with 3 Hours Duration

Subjects included in this Paper are, . Constitution and Human Rights, Administration of Union and States with special reference to Tamil Nadu, Socio – Economic issues in India / Tamil Nadu, Current issues at National Level, Current issues at State Level.

Paper II – General Studies (200 questions for 300 marks) with 3 Hours Duration ,Subjects included in this paper are General Studies, Aptitude and Mental Ability Test (SSLC Standard) General Tamil / General English – (SSLC Standard).

Interview and Record – 80 Marks
